Washington Capitol Sunken Garden Project

2023 marks the ninth year that the members of the ESDA will plant and manage the Sunken Garden Dahlia exhibit.  Management of the garden started as a judges' certification project in 2015 and now has become an annual undertaking in conjunction with the grounds management for the Capitol campus.  Dahlias for 2020 have been stored from the previous year's plantings and supplemented with donations from ESDA member, Dan Pearson of Dan's Dahlias  Club members are responsible for planting and management of the dahlia garden, which has become a popular attraction with visitors to the Capitol campus. 2020 marked renovation in the Sunken Garden, so watch for updated lay-outs and planting!

The Sunken Garden is located Northeast of the main Legislative Building, just north of the Winged Victory monument.
